Field of the Gap

The ruin lies below the southern mouth of the Tharaxi Gap, on ground named for the Battle of the Gap. There, in 212, four thousand Phymun under King Tothakhor Deneskid held the pass for three days against the 40,000 of King Clislo II of Castavar-Lasdara. Clislo was killed by a thrown spear on the third day, and Castavar retreated. The battle made Tharax's reputation, and no army has forced the Gap since.
