Hrodvald sends no envoy and signs nothing.
0–146 R.	The Accord holds The Accord holds, mostly. Vareth and Wessary spend the first century marrying into each other's royal houses. The Sarvani Khaasareem dig the first great salestoot. The Three Thrones fight each other every generation. Tharax, having lost half its citizens in the Century of Fire, rebuilds the Anvil.
97 R.	A Vareth–Wessary marriage Prince Hethnol of Vareth marries Princess Glailith of Wessary, the first of the century of marriages between the two royal houses that ends in the Union of the Heartlands. The Wessary claim to the Wenvorm's southern bank enters the Vareth marriage rolls.
151 R.	The Union of the Heartlands The Union of the Heartlands. King Hethbael of Vareth marries Queen Sildith of Wessary. Their son, Hethmed Tulvard, becomes the first king of a united Aldmere in 178. The Tulvard dynasty has ruled Aldmere ever since.
160s R.	The Gray Cough The Gray Cough, a lung plague, sweeps north from the Sunmaw through the Heartlands and into the Frostmarch. A fifth of the Heartlands dies. Hethlend is abandoned for three years.
178 R.	Hethmed Tulvard, first king of Aldmere Hethmed Tulvard, son of King Hethbael of Vareth and Queen Sildith of Wessary, becomes the first king of a united Aldmere. The Tulvard dynasty has ruled Aldmere ever since.
183 R.	Salestaad the Builder names Zarvand The Sarvani Khaasar Salestaad the Builder completes the first great fire-temple at Mazbaaran around the Eternal Flame. He renames his realm Zarvand ("land of gold") after the color of the Talodin at sunset. Chroniclers date the Khaasarate of Zarvand from this year.
199 R.	The First Bound Rising The First Bound Rising in Tharax. The Bound revolt during the harvest. The Phymun put it down in eleven days. The Skekar institute the Tyrthas, the secret watch that has policed the Bound ever since.
206–212 R.	The War of the Gap The War of the Gap. King Clislo II of Castavar-Lasdara marches an army of 40,000 through the Tharaxi Gap to seize the Heartlands' western grain lands. Tharax refuses passage.
212 R.	The Battle of the Gap The Battle of the Gap. Four thousand Tharaxi Phymun under King Tothakhor Deneskid hold the pass for three days against ten times their number. Clislo II is killed by a thrown spear on the third day. Castavar retreats. The battle makes Tharax's reputation; no army has forced the Gap since.
220 R.	The Lake Treasury The Marrowmere League cities of Solvaine, Claupiose and Ienvaune form a joint bank, the Lake Treasury, to fund their galley fleet. This is the seed of Caelvenne's financial power.
231 R.	The Hethlend Collapse The Hethlend Collapse. The old timber bridge over the Wenvorm gives way during the spring flood, drowning three hundred, including Aldmere's Lord Chancellor. The seven-arched stone bridge that gives the city its name is finished in 244.

248 R.	The Founding of Kaishon In the East, Emperor Dezau Kokdau of the northern throne conquers the other two Thrones and founds the Jade Dominion of Kaishon. He institutes the first examinations for office in 260.
255 R.	The Marrowmere Wars begin The Marrowmere Wars begin. The League cities fight each other over lake tolls for forty years, hiring Hrodvald raiders, Tharaxi spears and Castavari knights by turns.
260 R.	The first examinations Emperor Dezau Kokdau institutes the first examinations for office in Kaishon.
271 R.	The Burning of Ienvaune The Burning of Ienvaune. Claupiose's galleys fire Ienvaune's harbor with pitch. Two thousand die. The event is still a grudge between the two cities' noble houses.
283 R.	Fevar Red-Axe's raid Hrodvald clans under Hearthking Fevar Red-Axe raid down the Fur Trail as far as Chomtholk. Aldmere builds the first fortress at the Vargate.
289 R.	Larrona of Lasdara marries Khaasar Hoonneer Princess Larrona of Lasdara, of the junior line of the Twin Crowns, marries Khaasar Hoonneer of Zarvand. The Daalher road opens to Lasdaran wine. After 312 the Berrode declares the marriage's children idolaters, and after 301 Castavar ignores the Zarvani line's claim on Lasdara, which the House of Salestaad has never pressed.
294 R.	The Peace of the Nine The Peace of the Nine. Nine noble houses of the League end the Marrowmere Wars by dividing lake trade among themselves and electing a Prince to keep the peace: Prince Fezaud diol Valcroix. The state is renamed Caelvenne. The Conclave of Nine Houses dates from this treaty.
301 R.	Castavar absorbs Lasdara The Kingdom of Lasdara, junior partner in the Twin Crowns, dies out in the male line. Castavar absorbs it. The name Lasdara survives only in the church's southern diocese.
312 R.	The Founding of the Berrode The Founding of the Berrode. A hermit-preacher named Fojo of the Llovo proclaims the Solitary God at Grarañe. Within a generation the Castavari kings adopt the faith and the older gods of Castavar are outlawed. Fojo is later canonized; Erbavo Fojo is named for him.
330–338 R.	The Long Drought of the Talodin The Long Drought of the Talodin. Eight years of failed snows in the Spine. The Talodin runs dry for stretches of the summer. Lake Shorooq shrinks to a salt pan. Half of Kebidaan starves or flees. Khaasar Hussaad II is deposed by his own Jaarzebeem in 336 for "losing the favor of the Flame."

341 R.	The Long Rampart begun Kaishon begins the Long Rampart under Emperor Tokrai Meksi, after steppe raiders sack Sorogei.
352 R.	The Tulvard Succession The Tulvard Succession. King Hethgrul II of Aldmere dies without an heir. Two cousins claim the crown. Rather than fight, the great lords convene the first Moot at Hethlend and choose between them. The Moot has met every year since and gradually took the power to make law.
367 R.	The Lake Comet The Lake Comet. A comet hangs over Lake Surmave for forty nights. Sun-priests of Caelvenne declare it a sign of the Radiant Iévaine's favor. The Berrode of Castavar declares it a warning. Both build cathedrals.
380 R.	The Kingdom Under the Spine The Dunmorrow Underking Tunand Deepdelver unites the mountain clans and proclaims the Kingdom Under the Spine †. For nearly two centuries Dunmorrow is a true power, selling steel to all sides and fielding armored heavy infantry that even Tharax respects.
398 R.	The Poisoning at Mazbaaran The Poisoning at Mazbaaran. Khaasar Kasaadeer III dies at a feast. His vizier, three of his sons, and forty guests die with him. The surviving son, Avisteer I, blames the Jaarzeb of Feshfaan and burns his city. Zarvand's tradition of ruthless succession dates from here.
410–415 R.	The Salt Wars The Salt Wars. Castavar's ocean fleet destroys the island kingdom of Vexara † in the Shattered Isles, whose kings had preyed on Castavari shipping for two hundred years. The islands are never settled by Castavar; the survivors become the Salt Brotherhood.
421 R.	The first leusore Caelvenne mints the first leusore. Within fifty years it is the reference coin of the continent.
432 R.	The Frostmarch Famine The Frostmarch Famine. Two failed summers. Hearthking Anoga Wolf-Mother, the first woman elected Hearthking, leads the clans south to buy grain from Aldmere instead of raiding for it. The precedent lasts a generation.
455 R.	The Grass Sea Kingdom The Grass Sea Kingdom. A steppe chieftain, Shaghis the Gray, unites the horse tribes and founds the Charnazin of Tontanor †, with a walled capital at the Tontanor fords, a few days' ride down the Tsanha from Lake Surmave. It is the first steppe state in memory and it terrifies both its neighbors.
461–470 R.	The Rampart War The Rampart War. Tontanor attacks Kaishon's unfinished wall for nine years. Kaishon loses a hundred thousand conscripts and holds. The war teaches Kaishon to build the repeating crossbow.
471 R.	The Rampart Marriage The Rampart Marriage. A year after the Rampart War ends, Kaishon buys peace with a marriage: Princess Tokrai Hyuha marries Iygar, son of Shaghis the Gray, at the Tontanor fords. Her clerks teach the Charnazin to count horses. Kaishon has never married out since, and the Measured strike the marriage from the register in 503.
488 R.	The Long Rampart completed The Long Rampart is completed, 1,100 miles from the Frostmarch to the edge of the Verdant Deep. Emperor Tokrai Tegoi dies six days after walking its length.
501–502 R.	The Seven Oath The Seven Oath (Tsal Bumong). In the winter of 501 the olriqtun of seven tribes, the Shiygöl, the Jilmu, the Angsit, three tribes since absorbed into the Cherüsh, and the Saiga Followers, swear at the fords' lower crossing to bring down the Charnazin. In the summer of 502 they move their herds onto water only the Followers can find, the foal-tithe fails, the garrisons desert, the barges go downstream, and the Angsit open the gate. Shaghis's grandson, called Chaqus, is killed at his own gate. A second oath, that no olriq will build a wall on the steppe and the Followers will never be ridden down, holds until Sarsak Tolmar lays stones at Tontanor.
502 R.	The Fall of Tontanor The Fall of Tontanor. Shaghis's grandson is murdered by his own tribes, who resent the taxes of a settled kingdom. The Charnazin collapses in a summer. The Grass Sea returns to feuding tribes, and its capital at the Tontanor fords is left to the wind. Its ruins are still there.
505–509 R.	The Emptying of the West The Emptying of the West (Sheti Tsanha). Emperor Tokrai Tsonda orders the steppe cleared for three days' ride in front of the Long Rampart. General Dezau Nogowei's columns burn empty tents for four years; the grass fired in 507 burns back along the ditch and takes the wall's own hoardings; a column of eight thousand sent after the Saiga Followers in 508 is led in a circle by its Nintang guides and half of it dies. Grand Chancellor Seiro Hishei's memorial of 509 ends the measure on the emperor's death. The Nintang, half Kaishoni by the conscripts who stayed, and the Rampart Squatters, who moved one li west and called themselves 'not present,' date from it. The steppe calls it Ghorsot Zaghisrat, the Grass Burned.
511 R.	The Grain Compact Aldmere and Caelvenne sign the Grain Compact: Aldmere feeds Caelvenne, Caelvenne lends to Aldmere. The Aldmere crown's debt to Caelvenne begins here and has never been paid off.
520 R.	The Second Bound Rising The Second Bound Rising. The largest revolt in Tharaxi history. The Bound of the Lowfields kill three hundred Phymun in a night. King Drimor Sastorid is assassinated in his tent by a Bound servant. The Tyrthas's reprisals last a year. The population of the Bound falls by a third.
539 R.	The Great Surmave Flood The Great Surmave Flood. A wet spring and a Spine snowmelt raise Lake Surmave by twelve feet. Solvaine's lower city drowns. The Drowned Gate, a stone arch from the Age of Ruins, is uncovered by the receding water and gives the ruin its name.
555 R.	The Kingdom Under the Spine falls The Kingdom Under the Spine falls. The Dunmorrow Underking Grarg the Proud refuses to sell steel to Castavar and Aldmere unless they pay in gold. Both realms besiege the Delvers' holds together. The Dunmorrow are never conquered, but their kingdom is broken; the holds go back to being independent clans, and they sell to everyone.
570 R.	The Wolf Winter The Wolf Winter in the Frostmarch. Wolves come into the longhouses. Hearthking Mulrik Halfhand is killed by his own stelestuk for failing to feed the clans.
588–596 R.	The Reasoned Purge The Reasoned Purge. In Kaishon, Grand Chancellor Seiro Ketsan (ancestor of the present Seiro Makok) persuades the emperor to adopt the Doctrine of Ordered Reason as state creed and outlaw temples. Ten thousand monks are executed or exiled. Kaishon has been officially without gods ever since. The old faith survives in the household spirits of the countryside.
603 R.	The Assassination at the Sun Cathedral The Assassination at the Sun Cathedral. Prince Roltien diol Valcroix of Caelvenne is stabbed at dawn prayers by a priest in the pay of the House of Aijal. The Conclave hangs the Aijal patriarch and two of his sons from the cathedral bell-tower. The House of Aijal survives only as spies; Roltien Aijal of the Quiet Office is its heir.
622 R.	The Cinder Teeth erupt The Cinder Teeth erupt. The largest volcanic event in recorded history. Ash falls as far as Hethlend. The sky is dim for a year.
623 R.	The Year Without Summer The Year Without Summer. Crops fail across Aethorra. The Frostmarch, the Heartlands and the Sunmaw all starve. Kaishon opens its granaries and survives better than anyone. The Hizkari, who lived on the slopes, become a hardened remnant people.
624–630 R.	The Hunger Wars The Hunger Wars. Hrodvald raids, Aldmere border wars, and a Castavari invasion of Zarvand for grain that ends in the desert. It is in these years that Zarvand first uses naphtha from the Cinder Teeth seeps as a weapon: Talodin fire.
626–627 R.	The Rice March The Rice March. In the Hunger Wars, General Dezau Kyarau leads thirty thousand conscripts out of the Jade Gate to escort Kaishon's rice convoys west and collect Caelvenne's silver. At the Tontanor fords, on the League's Day of the Accord Days, his repeating crossbows kill some three thousand Aldmeri levies and Caelvennois marines who had been taking the rice; that night the steppe tribes take it. Kyarau marches home in 627 with the silver, the only Kaishoni army to stand west of the Rampart since the Emptying. In the same season the Zarvani burn a Castavari column with naphtha on the salest channels below Kebidaan, the first Talodin fire.
631 R.	The Peace of the Isle The Peace of the Isle ends the Hunger Wars. The envoys of the six signer-realms meet on the Isle of the Accord in the Accord Days, the first time since 0 R. Five terms: a signer whose army crosses a border in the Accord Days loses its chair at the Isle for seven years, and Kaishon sits out the first penalty; no realm's soldiers may seize a Qaflan wheel or a Drift keel, the Road Terms; each signer sends an envoy every year to hear the Accord read, the seed of the Sitting; grain in transit is not spoil; and a price is not an act of war. Hrodvald is not asked.
633 R.	Hethwur marries Diznesh Prince Hethwur of Aldmere, later Hethwur IV, marries Princess Diznesh, daughter of Khaasar Zhurteer of Zarvand, in the wake of the Peace of the Isle. She brings a physician, paper for the Chancery and a fire-shrine to Moot Rise that is still lit. Zarvand says the Charter of Hearths of 641 was her doing; Aldmere says it was the Moot's.
641 R.	The Charter of Hearths Aldmere's Charter of Hearths, signed by King Hethwur IV, guarantees freedom of worship in the kingdom. Refugees from the Reasoned Purge and the Berrode's inquisition settle in the Heartlands.
655 R.	The first Rislo The Berrode's first Rislo, Cravio of Grarañe, is elevated with authority equal to the king's on matters of faith.
672 R.	The Marriage of the Lake The Marriage of the Lake. Prince Tilaud diol Valcroix marries Princess Glaidith Tulvard of Aldmere. The Valcroix line has Aldmere royal blood from this point, and Caelvenne has never let Aldmere forget it.
681 R.	The House of Learning founded Zarvand's Khaasar Zhinraad the Learned founds the House of Learning at Mazbaaran. Its astronomers produce the star tables still used by every navigator on the continent.
690 R.	Missionaries at Baamarsh A Castavari fleet lands missionaries at Baamarsh. The Zarvani burn their ship. The Rislo declares Zarvand a realm of idolaters.
699–701 R.	The First Crusade The First Crusade. King Llelilo the Pious leads 30,000 Castavari across the Sunmaw toward Mazbaaran. The Zarvani refuse battle, poison the wells, and let the desert do the work. Llelilo dies of thirst forty miles from the Talodin in 701. Fewer than five thousand return.

712 R.	The Salt Brotherhood sworn The Salt Brotherhood is formally sworn by the pirate captains of the Shattered Isles, with a code and an elected Captain-King. Castavar's navy has fought them ever since.
725 R.	Emperor Tokrai Koimu deposed Kaishon's Emperor Tokrai Koimu is deposed by the ministers under the Mandate of Merit for "negligence," the first and only time it has happened. He is sent to the archive-city of Tsenkin, where he dies copying manuscripts.
734 R.	The Venei's Throat Massacre The Venei's Throat Massacre. A Castavari logging company enters the Greenwarden through Venei's Throat with an armed escort of two hundred. None return. The Waheli leave the escort's shields nailed to the trees at the forest's edge. They are still there.
741 R.	King Phospor Deneskid arrested Tharax's King Phospor Deneskid is arrested by the Skekar for accepting Caelvennois gold and dies in prison. The first Tharaxi king removed by the Skekar, and the origin of the Phymun saying: "Gold has a smell."
752 R.	Silver above Puesdro Silver is discovered in the mountains above Puesdro. Within thirty years Castavar mints more silver than every other realm combined.
758 R.	The marriage of Gold and Silver Infanta Marnada deso Grarañe, daughter of King Chanuo II of Castavar, marries Vorvaud diol Valcroix of Caelvenne, with the first Rislo's leave ever given for a foreign match. Castavar's new Puesdro silver is changed on Coin Row and minted through Solvaine's changers from this year; by 890 Castavar owes Caelvenne's old houses most of the ransom of 868.
763 R.	The Barerk Raid on Shanyo The Barerk Raid on Shanyo. Hrodvald longships row down the northeast coast and sack Kaishon's northern city. Kaishon extends the Rampart's northern forts to the sea.
779 R.	The Cherüsh enter the chronicles The Cherüsh tribe first appears in the chronicles as one of the raiding tribes of the Grass Sea.
788 R.	The Mirror Towers The Mirror Towers. Caelvenne's engineer Sierine Tésvol builds the first heliograph line across Lake Surmave. Within twenty years Solvaine can send a message to Larvir faster than a rider can saddle.
801 R.	The Black Autumn The Black Autumn. A blight destroys the Heartlands wheat crop. Aldmere borrows a fortune from Caelvenne to buy Kaishoni rice. The Grain Compact debt doubles.
815 R.	Sutzam founded The Tzalan city of Sutzam is founded around the largest step-pyramid in the Verdant Deep, the first jungle settlement large enough to be called a city since the Age of Ruins.
822–829 R.	The Lords' War The Lords' War. The great lords of Aldmere's Westmarch, led by Duke Yornbael Durift, rebel against King Hethminth III over the Moot's right to tax them. The king wins, barely, with Tharaxi mercenaries paid in Caelvennois gold. The Durifts keep their duchy; the Moot keeps its taxes. The Westmarch has distrusted Hethlend ever since.
840 R.	Faashab-Talodin planted Zarvand's Khaasar Talodeer the Magnificent marches north and takes the Talodin headwaters below the Tharaxi Gap, planting the fortress of Faashab-Talodin on Tharaxi ground. Tharax, weakened by the Lords' War, lets it stand. The fort has been a sore point for three centuries.
851 R.	The Iron Matron's Bargain The Iron Matron's Bargain. The Hizkari clans of the Cinder Teeth, until now paid in salt for their naphtha, demand gold. Khaasar Talodeer pays. The price has risen every generation since.
866–868 R.	The Second Crusade The Second Crusade. Rislo Pueco and King Mairo II lead 45,000 Castavari by sea this time, landing on the coast near Baamarsh. They take Baamarsh and Vonteen-Shorooq, hold them for two years, and are broken at the Battle of the Salt Pans in 868, when Zarvani cataphracts charge across the crust of Lake Shorooq at dawn. Mairo II is captured and ransomed for his weight in silver.

877 R.	The Frostmarch Concord The Frostmarch Concord. For the first time, all the Hrodvald clans agree to a single law-code at the Vuvud. Blood feuds must now be settled by drolak before the clans, not by night raids. It is honored about half the time.
890 R.	The Tsenkin Earthquake The Tsenkin Earthquake. Lake Tsenkin's shoreline collapses; the archive-city loses a third of its manuscripts. Kaishon spends forty years recopying what survives.
892–899 R.	The Ledger War The Ledger War. After a rotted harvest, Aldmere's Moot halves the Compact measure for 891; the Conclave calls it a breach and seizes forty grain barges and the Drift town of Threeoars at the Wenvorm mouth (the Seizure on the Mirror). Caelvenne's old houses pay Castavar's King Gaduo I to march on Zarvand for the ransom silver of 868. Aldmere, Zarvand and Tharax swear the Compact of Wrunvos in the Seventh Month: no separate peace, Aldmere grain down the Tharax road, Zarvani horse to the lake, the Gap closed to Castavar, and Tharaxi spears paid in twenty years of grain, not gold. Castavar calls it no war, because the Rislo will not call it a crusade.
893 R.	The Summer at Lokon Refused the Gap, twelve thousand Castavari sit below the pass at Lokon from the Third Month to the Seventh and go home when the Grandees' silver runs short, having fought nobody. King Kraxor Deneskid takes six thousand spears north to Aldmere by the Stair; King Sperxor Sastorid holds the Gap with the Bound rolling stones. No army forces the Gap. Tharax names the year for it.
895 R.	The Battle of the Darthir The Battle of the Darthir. Caelvenne's galleys land the Lilies, four hundred Castavari knights and two thousand hired Hrodvald crews below Wromthalm to take the Toll House. Kraxor Deneskid's Phymun meet them on the shingle in silence, and three thousand Zarvani horse archers under Khusjiraad shoot the Lilies' horses in the harbor shallows. The Lilies break, the Hrodvald reach the galleys, the Castavari knights are ransomed at fifty larrama a head. Caelvenne holds the water and never lands on it again.
895 R.	The Battle of Daalher King Gaduo I takes Daalher with sixteen thousand and burns the pistachio orchards of Kebidaan on the road east. Jaarzeb Tokunaad of Kebidaan refuses battle and cuts the water carts on the Cluvedo road with cataphracts and camel corps. Gaduo turns back at the orchards' edge with the Talodin in sight.
896 R.	The Burning off Baamarsh Castavar's ocean navy blockades Baamarsh through the summer. On a calm night in the Sixth Month the harbor's fire-boats go out among the anchored galleons with their siphons and burn nine of them: the first use of Talodin fire at sea.
897 R.	The Thalmirn Boats Aldmere tries the lake once. Forty lakeshore boats with bolt-throwers, built through the winter by the Northmere lords to break the blockade of the Wenvorm mouth, are reported by the mirror towers the morning they are launched and burned at their moorings that evening by the Claupiose and Solvaine squadrons. Aldmere has not built a warship since.
899 R.	The Ledger Peace The Ledger Peace, sworn on the Isle of the Accord in the Accord Days after a year of Qaflan wheel-letters, with Kaishon's ambassador as go-between. The Grain Compact is restored word for word and the measure is to be set each New Year's Day by Moot and Conclave together; the barges of 892 are paid at the Compact price and the Drift paid a leusore a keel for Threeoars; Castavar's chair at the Isle, empty since 895 for crossing into Daalher on the Khaasar's Day of 894, stays empty to 901 and Castavar swears the Peace standing and gets nothing else; Zarvand keeps Daalher and doubles its gate; Tharax takes its twenty years of grain and resolves never to be paid in gold, a resolution kept until 1131; and the Qaflan and the Drift are given a bench in the Sitting's hall to swear the Road Terms on, which becomes the Bench of the free peoples. Princess Somith Tulvard marries Prince Corenvo of Castavar to seal it. The sentence assigning the banks of the Tsanha fords is written badly, and the War of the Tsanha Fords is fought over it in 911.
903 R.	The House of Farisel founded The House of Farisel is founded in Solvaine by a glass-merchant's widow, Vailine Farisel, who lends to Aldmere's crown when the older houses refuse. Within a century Farisel holds the debts of half the continent.
911–914 R.	The War of the Tsanha Fords The War of the Tsanha Fords. Aldmere and Caelvenne fight a short war over who controls the crossing where the Tsanha leaves Lake Surmave. 949 R.	Tharaxi spears on the lake shore Caelvenne's Conclave formally adopts the practice of hiring Tharaxi spears for lake-shore garrison duty. Tharax accepts, on the condition that no Phymon ever sleep inside Solvaine's walls.
960 R.	The Comet Returns The Comet Returns. The same comet last seen in 367. Zarvand's astronomers had predicted it to the month. The Berrode bans the House of Learning's star tables in Castavar; Castavari navigators keep using them anyway.
971–975 R.	The Cherüsh Ascendancy The Cherüsh Ascendancy. The Cherüsh tribe conquers its neighbors on the Grass Sea and becomes the largest steppe tribe. Kaishon pays the Cherüsh olriqtun tribute to keep them off the Rampart, a practice that continues to this day and that Kaishon's ministers call "gifts."
983 R.	The Rislo's Coup The Rislo's Coup. Rislo Gronrovo imprisons King Janedo IV of Castavar for heresy and rules through the king's twelve-year-old son for eleven years. The precedent for the present Rislo's power.
996 R.	Hethlarn I stabbed at the Moot Aldmere's King Hethlarn I is stabbed on the floor of the Moot by a Westmarch baron during a tax debate. He survives; the baron does not. Weapons have been banned from the Moot hall ever since.
1004 R.	The Drowning of Vexport The Drowning of Vexport. A great storm sinks half the Salt Brotherhood's fleet and drowns its pirate town. The Brotherhood rebuilds at Wreckers Cove. Captain-Queen Sormerva Vex claims descent from the last Captain-King who died in the storm.
1014 R.	The Salt Bride Baamaraad, son of the Jaarzeb of Baamarsh, marries Shurlal, daughter of the Iron Matron of the day, the only marriage the Hizkari have made downhill. The naphtha road to Baamarsh is guaranteed by kin, and the slab of salt in every ten jars enters the bargain. The price rises anyway.
1019 R.	The Reasoned Rebellion The Reasoned Rebellion. Peasants of Kaishon's Southern Reach, led by a temple-keeper named Tsehei Yotoke, revolt to restore the old gods. Kaishon crushes it with the Sorogei garrison. Tsehei Yotoke's head is displayed in Kokrin for a year. Household shrines are quietly tolerated afterward.
1030s R.	The Tzalan Awakening The Tzalan Awakening. Sun-Speakers of Sutzam begin to unite the jungle villages under the pyramid cult. Zarvand's spice caravans start losing men on the Nhal.
1041 R.	Farrun Icebrand dies Hearthking Farrun Icebrand, the last woman elected before Selra Stormbrand, dies in a longship on Lake Farvig. The clans return to feuding.
1052 R.	The Bridge Treaty The Bridge Treaty. Aldmere and Tharax agree that the Stair and Venei's Throat are Aldmere's to garrison, the Tharaxi Gap Tharax's. Duke Durift's Westmarch takes on the western passes and grows rich on the tolls.
1061 R.	Death of Avisteer II Khaasar Avisteer II dies of a fall from a horse. Two of his sons kill each other over the throne within the month. A third, Zhaasheer IV, takes it and reigns forty years. He is the father of the present Khaasar.
1068 R.	The Solvaine Bank Panic The Solvaine Bank Panic. The House of Tésvol fails after lending to a Castavari silver venture that collapses. Farisel buys its debts at a discount. Tésvol survives as one of the Nine only by marrying into Farisel.
1074 R.	Sack of a Zarvani spice-fort Tzalan warriors sack a Zarvani spice-fort on the Nhal. Zarvand and Kaishon both begin pushing garrisons into the Verdant Deep.
1082 R.	The Cherüsh Civil War The Cherüsh Civil War. The Cherüsh olriq is murdered by his brother; the tribes split into four factions and fight for a generation. Kaishon stops paying tribute. Aldmere's eastern border is quiet for the first time in a century.
1089 R.	The Great Winter The Great Winter. The worst winter in the chronicles. Lake Farvig freezes to the bottom in the shallows. A third of the Frostmarch dies. The Hrodvald raid south for a generation to survive, and Aldmere's northern shires are emptied by it.
1091 R.	Durift marries Coldbrook The sister of the Duke of the Westmarch marries the chieftain of the Vargate Clans, a Hearthfaith wedding on ridges where the Old Ones are kept. Duke Minthor Durift and Grerik Coldbrook are the cousins it makes, and the Westmarch and the Vargate have spoken for each other at the Moot and the Isle since.
1097 R.	The Northmere stones The Aldmere and Caelvennois envoys of the Sitting walk the dried marsh east of Thalmirn, where the border of 914 had been drawn through water, and set boundary stones with a rope. Both sides say the other cheated by a pace. The stones stand where they were set.
1099 R.	Tokrai Shaiku takes the Jade Throne Tokrai Shaiku takes the Jade Throne at 24 after his father's death.
1102 R.	Avisteer III becomes Khaasar Avisteer III becomes Khaasar of Zarvand at 23. He is a poet and astronomer before he is a king, and in his first decade he doubles the House of Learning.
1108 R.	The Tharaxi Reforms The Tharaxi Reforms. The Skekar, alarmed at the shrinking citizen body, allow the sons of Outdweller craftsmen into the Anvil for the first time. The Thirty split over it. The political rivalry between the Deneskid and Sastorid royal lines dates from here.
1113 R.	"A town is not a hull" At the Sitting, Aldmere's envoy moves, to annoy Caelvenne, that the Drift's barge-towns be freed of the lake toll they have never paid, on the ground that a town is not a hull. Caelvenne accepts rather than enter the Drift as a people who can be taxed and therefore treated with. The nine words are the one thing the Sitting has settled in fifty years, and the reason Threeoars drifts between two realms and pays neither.
1117 R.	Tokrai Seitotai born Tokrai Seitotai is born to Emperor Tokrai Shaiku's principal consort. The emperor has no surviving sons.
1119 R.	Sarsak Tolmar born Sarsak Tolmar is born in a felt tent in the Grass Sea, son of a minor Cherüsh chief.
1121 R.	Hethlarn III crowned Hethlarn Tulvard III is crowned in Hethlend at 27 after his father dies of a fever. He inherits a treasury owing two generations of debt to Farisel.
1127 R.	The Hrodvald raid on Thalmirn The Hrodvald raid on Thalmirn. The last great raid of the Great Winter's aftermath. Aldmere finally fortifies Lulstat and the Northmere.
1130 R.	Kenithor and Lekakor become kings Kenithor Deneskid and Lekakor Sastorid become the two kings of Tharax within a year of each other.
1131 R.	The Iron Contract The Iron Contract. Caelvenne, unable to trust its mercenaries after a Castavari company defects mid-siege in a lake-shore raid, signs a treaty with Tharax: gold every year, a Tharaxi army in return. King Kenithor signs it. King Lekakor votes against it in the Thirty and loses by two votes.
1131 R.	Grerik Coldbrook marries Drolba Nugag Grerik Coldbrook, chieftain of the Vargate Clans, marries Drolba Nugag, elder sister of Thuba Nugag, closing the northern Spine's trade triangle by blood: Nugag iron at the Vargate, Vargate timber at Nugvek. Grerik is Thuba's brother-in-law from this year, and the Coldbrooks have kin on both sides of any war between Selra and Kruman.
1132 R.	Lourien elected Prince Lourien diol Valcroix is elected Prince of Caelvenne at 47.
1135 R.	The Gilded Pact The Gilded Pact. Prince Lourien's niece Rorelle marries Crown Prince Dobarmo of Castavar. Farisel refinances Castavar's entire silver debt in the same week.
1137 R.	The dry summer A dry summer in the Spine. The Talodin runs low. Khaasar Avisteer III writes to Tharax asking that no dam ever be built on the headwaters. Tharax does not reply.
1138 R.	Dobarmo IV crowned King Randuo V of Castavar dies. Dobarmo IV is crowned at 27. Rislo Litoto preaches the Third Crusade at the coronation.
1138 R.	Selra's raid on Shanyo Selra Stormbrand's longships raid Shanyo on Kaishon's north coast, the last great Hrodvald raid of any kind.
1139 R.	The Third Crusade The Third Crusade. Dobarmo IV, urged by Litoto and funded by Farisel, marches 35,000 through the Tharaxi Gap under safe-conduct and down the Talodin. The Zarvani meet them at the Battle of Faashab-Talodin and break the ratorlon with Talodin fire at a river crossing. Eight thousand Castavari burn or drown. Dobarmo escapes. Castavar's debt to Caelvenne doubles.
1140 R.	Castavar's envoy to the Hizkari The Hizkari raise the price of naphtha again and receive a Castavari envoy for the first time.
1141 R.	Sarsak Tolmar unites the Cherüsh Sarsak Tolmar, 22, unites the four Cherüsh factions after killing the last rival olriq in single combat at the ruins of Tontanor. He pitches his camp on the old capital's ruins and names it Tolmar-Buyor. Kaishon resumes tribute payments at once.
1142 R.	Ixatl closes the jungle Sun-Speaker Ixatl takes power in Sutzam and declares the jungle closed to outsiders.
1143 R.	Makok takes the seals Emperor Tokrai Shaiku falls ill and withdraws from public view. Grand Chancellor Seiro Makok takes the seals of state.
1144 R.	Selra Stormbrand elected Hearthking Selra Stormbrand is elected Hearthking at the Vuvud, the first woman in a century. Stelest Kruman Ironjaw walks out of the Vuvud.
1145 R.	Faasheer takes the Unfading Khaasar Avisteer III's health fails. Prince Faasheer takes command of the Unfading. Prince Durkaad is sent to govern Feshfaan, out of the way.
1145 R.	Lekakor moves to leave the Iron Contract King Lekakor Sastorid proposes in the Thirty that Tharax withdraw from the Iron Contract when its current term ends in 1147. The vote is deferred.
1145 R.	The saddle on the Bench In the Accord Days that close 1145, Sarsak Tolmar sends a rider, Kholab, to the Sitting at the Isle, the first Cherüsh envoy in six centuries. Kholab refuses the Bench and demands a chair as the Charnazin's heir; the Sitting refuses, since the Charnazin never signed the Accord. He leaves his saddle on the Bench and rides for the fords. The same Sitting hears the Khaasar's letter of 1137 read into the record without reply from Tharax, the bishop's sermon on the Fourth Crusade, and Selra Stormbrand's letter asking for the Absent Chair, answered as always. Nothing is settled.
1146 R.	Now Now. Sarsak Tolmar's riders are seen at the Tsanha fords. Litoto preaches the Fourth Crusade in every cathedral in Castavar. Farisel has stopped lending to Castavar. Prince Hethbael of Aldmere has asked his father, in front of the Moot, why Aldmere still pays interest on a loan made in 511.
