Meemakh of Shorooq

The province of the salt lake at the Talodin's end, taking in Lake Shorooq, the summer palace at Vonteen-Shorooq and the Salt Pans. It is salt country, where flamingos crowd the flats, tamarisk lines the shore and brine shrimp are harvested for red dye. It was overrun by the Second Crusade in 866 and won back at the Battle of the Salt Pans in 868.
