Sorogei (province)

The southwestern province around the city of Sorogei, where the Long Rampart runs south toward the Verdant Deep. Its southern forests are the home of the singing Sorogei gibbon and the great aromatic camphor tree, whose wood makes insect-proof chests; the red Sorogei centipede is dangerous, and the Kaishon tiger, the Emperor's hunt, prowls the southern hills. Its garrison put down the Reasoned Rebellion of 1019, and Old Tsau has kept an illegal shrine on the Sorogei road for fifty years.
