The Naphtha Seeps

The oil seeps of the Cinder Teeth, source of the naphtha that Zarvand has made into Talodin fire since the Hunger Wars of 624–630. The Seep-Keepers, led by the Iron Matron's son Hizikaad the Younger, the only man alive who knows where every seep lies, guard them, and fire-beetles gather around them. The Hizkari say a seep that bubbles blue is the Mother waking, and that fire sold without salt in the deal is stolen from the mountain.
