Vargate Clans' country

The eastern foothills of the northern Spine around the Vargate are home to the Vargate Clans, three hill-clans of about six thousand people, half Hrodvald by blood and Aldmere by grain. They raid nobody, sell timber, toll everybody, and marry their daughters into both the Northmere lords and Clan Nugag. Their chieftain, Grerik Coldbrook, is Duke Durift's cousin and Thuba Nugag's brother-in-law. The Hearthfaith is kept in the valleys and the Old Ones on the ridges, and nobody minds. With the Dunmorrow and Clan Nugag they form the northern Spine's trade triangle.
