The Lowfields
The lowest and most farmed country in Tharax is the heartland of the Bound, who work its barley terraces for the Phymun. It is the realm's most dangerous ground. In the Second Bound Rising of 520, the Bound of the Lowfields killed three hundred Phymun in a single night, and the Tyrthas's reprisals cut the Bound population by a third. In 938 the Third Rising was betrayed before it began, and two thousand Bound were executed here in what the Phymun call "the quiet year." The Bound speak Tharaxi with softer vowels here, and the Furrow survives among them in secret. Tandox the Bound has spent five years building a network in these fields that the Tyrthas has not found, and a Phymon old wives' tale says a spear that falls pointing toward the Lowfields means something worse than Castavar.
